Fewer Predictions

Over the last month and first month of a year, never have I seen fewer published predictions for the year ahead. Is it that people have recognized that they hold little value? Are usually wrong? It's impossible to predict? Or is it with the current economic conditions, we are more interested today in taking control of our own futures, rather than predicting someone else's? I like that better. If we each grab hold and take control, tides will rise.
